With this barstool by Konstantin Grcic there’s nothing that isn’t innovative. A normal barstool is a hotchpotch of components and materials. For Miura, on the other hand, one is enough. And not just any old material: reinforced, injection-moulded polypropylene is light, stable and, just as important, inexpensive. With its unique, angular and at first glance somewhat awkward-appearing frame, Miura is a star in Konstantin Grcic’s provocative oeuvre, from a man whose imagination has inspired quite a few of his fellow designers.
Unlike many others, however, it’s not all about shape for Grcic: the chair is wonderfully comfortable and can also be stacked. Design awards:
