The internationally famous, Spanish designer Jaime Hayon designed the armchair of the future together with Fritz Hansen. An armchair, which offers relaxation and a little time-out for you, away from the stressful day by day.
Time to think is luxury nowadays. We all have a lot of work and hardly time to stop and think a little while. The Ro armchair from Fritz Hansen comes from the desire of furniture which will make us stop running for a moment.
Ro is more than an armchair. It has 1½ seats, to relax in them, to find a comfortable position in it, to read newspapers or to configure the computer or spend time with the children - a new comfort zone.
The design of the seat is simple, elegant and pleasant for the eyes and the body. In its visual expression and the comfortable functionality, Ro guarantees quietness and relaxation. Moreover the clever shape of the seat makes it possible for you to decide whether to be part of what’s happening in the room you’re in or to enter your own small comfort zone.
The design premises of Fritz Hansen for the designer Jaime Hayon said that he should create “a comfortable seat for single persons”. ”We focussed on the shape of the armchair, which is inspired by the human body. Our aim was to create an armchair which would be as comfortable as beautiful. I wanted to create a slim, elegant armchair to think and sit comfortably”, explained Jaime Hayon.
“Ro” means quietness on Danish. This name was chosen because it describes the character of the armchair with only two characters and which perfectly expresses the Scandinavian concept for aesthetics that way.
The Ro armchair is made by Fritz Hansen according to the highest quality and processing standards. The result of this unique interplay of sculptural and elegant design is a functional and aesthetically appealing armchair, which attracts glimpses in every environment. One can only fall in love with it, since Ro doesn’t compromise in comfort or aestheticism.
The relax armchair is available in nine colours: in three traditional colours (black, grey and taupe), in three shiny colours (violet, blue and yellow) and in three soft colours (light pink, sage green and sand). The armchair has different surface structures for the seat and the upholstery for a more dynamic appearance, emphasizing the contrast between the hard outside and the warm, softer inside.
