Like small, natural protrusions, the Corniches designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec are flexible deposit spaces.

The Corniches emerged to place things spontaneously on them, out of the wish of having a place for smaller things in every moment.

“Just the same as hanging things on a stone before jumping in the water, we also need small possibilities to store things in our everyday life,” explained Ronan Bouroullec. This is the reason why the Corniches are not normal or still horizontal shelves, but somehow individual, independent and stand alone in their surroundings that we create by ourselves.

To store keys beside front doors, as a possibility to store things that we need instantly in the bathroom, to present a small collection of objects, or as large wall installation: Corniches are another utility possibility for our living areas.

The innovative design by the French brothers focuses more and more on flexibility and weightlessness. The Corniches illustrate the concept of a spontaneous depositing possibility. The Corniches are made out of high quality synthetic material by Vitra and are available in different forms, sizes, and colours.
