Decorative presentation for open books
Good books are characterized not only by an attractively designed cover, but also by well-designed interior pages. Such books are worth leaving open to look at a new page the next day. Much like a frame holds a picture, the book couch from Auerberg acts as a support for the book. With the goal of presenting each page in the best possible way, Auerberg developed the book couch. It elevates the book and allows it to open at a 140-degree angle so as not to overstress the spine. Stability is provided by three distinctive oak "glue springs" that symbolize the traditional bookbinding craft, where book spines are also reinforced with linen glue. Ash and oak wood, treated with linseed oil, are used.
