The Kelim Rug Merge by ferm Living combines traditional craftsmanship with modern design. Kelims have been adorning the walls and floors in Southwest Asia for thousands of years. Ferm Living and Trine Andersen were not only inspired by the weaving technique, but also by the Kelim’s traditional geometrical patterns.
The pattern of the Kelim Rug Merge features overlapping shapes characterised by colours inspired by nature. This creates cosiness in your own home and offers the opportunity to match decorations and furniture to a common colour scheme.
The Kelim rugs by ferm Living are made by hand, making every one of them a unique piece. The weaving technique is called “Punja” and is one of the oldest weaving techniques in the world. The weave varies lightly from rug to rug depending on the person weaving it. There may also be small colour differences between different rugs as the yarn is hand-dyed. The wool used is certified by Woolmark.
