The Unikko tealight holders from Marimekko , in the shape of Unikko flowers, are made of glass. It is advisable to wash these products by hand for optimum care.
As a tribute to the 60th anniversary of the Unikko pattern, each item in this set proudly bears the anniversary stamp on the underside.
The tea light holders are presented in the elegant Unikko anniversary box.
Unikko was designed by Maija Isola in 1964 and has become an international icon of print design. Armi Ratia, the founder of Marimekko , initially believed that it was not possible to capture the true essence of real flowers in print, which led to floral prints being excluded from the Marimekko collections. Maija Isola therefore developed Unikko as an abstract representation of a flower rather than a photorealistic image. Today, Unikko is a vibrant symbol of joy and creativity that fits seamlessly into the design identity of Marimekko .
