Brass and marble mirror
Classic meets modern: the Audo Pepe marble mirror puts classic shapes and materials in a contemporary context.
The eponymous studio Pepe is responsible for the design of the Audo Pepe mirror. The classic design and clean aesthetics inspired by 1950s Italy give the mirror iconic value. As an object, it can be used every day and one day may even be passed on to the next generation.
Iconic shape and precious materials
Arianna Lelli Mami and Chiara Di Pinto of Studio Pepe explain, "We love the Italian aesthetic of the late fifties - back then the growing educated middle class had a style represented by masters like Caccia Dominioni, Gio Ponti and De Carli, and in Michelangelo Antonioni's films like 'La notte.' A style that used many precious materials such as marble, brass, precious woods and patterns."
And so the material is in no way inferior to the iconic design: The round mirror is framed by brass in the Pepe Mirror. The mirror swivels, while the marble base provides stability. In combination, the result is an unmistakable style.
