Candle holder made of magnetic balls
The Molekyl candle holder consists of a metal tube for the rod candle, a magnetic ball and numerous steel balls and is a unique decorative object that plays with materials, shapes and individuality. The final design of Molekyl is unfinished and will be determined by the user personally.
Each candle holder comes with 20 large and 20 small steel balls. Thanks to the infinite possibilities to arrange the balls individually, no two Molekyl candle holders are the same.
Since all elements are held together by a magnet strong enough to act through non-magnetic materials, unique objects are created that seem to question the traditional laws of physics.
The candle holder can be used as a centrepiece on the table or on the windowsill. If you combine several candle holders, you can create a traditional Advent wreath. For more extravagance, the candle tube can be placed on the balls as if it were floating over a collection of molecules. It is also interesting when some of the steel balls are pinned under a thin table and the perception of gravity is deceived.
The Molekyl candle holder designed by Michael Rem is available in different colours and sets. The candle holder received the German Design Award.
