With a keen sense of contemporary, functionalist style, Mogens Lassen designed the iconic Kubus candlestick in 196 2.
Mogens Lassen had already been working on the Kubus Candlestick until the form emerged as we have known it since 1962. While the famous architect and designer may have suffered from dyslexia - his sense of proportion and mathematics was impeccable: each individual Kubus has been constructed with great exactitude and a precise aspect ratio. Absolutely nothing was left to chance by Lassen.
Made by local craftsmen in Ordrup, the geometric Kubus candlestick was originally intended as a small series of one-off pieces for Mogens Lassen's family and close friends. However, experimentation with shapes and functions resulted in a collection of products that today have achieved the status of modern design icons among architects and design connoisseurs.
Even today, the Audo Kubus 4 candlesticks are still made by skilled craftsmen in Holstebro, Denmark, and thus represent true Danish craftsmanship. Made of lacquered or copper-coated steel, the candlesticks from Audo are available in different variants.
