Like a seemingly random collection of objects, the Tonale tableware of the English architect David Chipperfield combines various components of fine dining and thereby creates this elegant coherence.
Tonale is inspired by the traditional pottery of Korea, Japan and China. The concept of David Chipperfield sees itself as attempt to refine functional household items. The name "Tonale" pays tribute to the painter Giorgio Morandi, whose use of colour tonality brought a distinctive individuality to everyday objects.
