Classic from the 50s: armchair made of a fibre cement panel
In 1954, the Swiss designer Willy Guhl created the first beach chair from the same fibre cement to which the company Eternit owes its name. It was to become a classic of furniture design in the 20. century.
The Loop Chair is now an evolution of the original design by Guhl himself, who died in 2004 and developed it seven years before his death. In 1999, the new Loop Chair went into production at Eternit .
Its design, however, remains close to the original without denying its independent character. In particular, the lines of the successor are more striking than those of its predecessor, but the curved, closed body made of Eternit ribbon explicitly follows the concept of 195 4.
Eternit products have been completely asbestos-free since the early 1990s. This of course also applies to the Loop outdoor chair - another and without doubt positive difference to the original.
